How it works

A complete loop from blocked app to earned screen time.

AfterReps is not just a locked screen. It catches the urge to open a selected app, redirects it into a verified movement challenge, grants timed access, and relocks cleanly when the time is over.

Step 01

Personalized onboarding first

New users answer a short set of questions about goals, app triggers, activity level, workout experience, and coaching tone. Returning users get a visible “Already have an account?” entry path instead of being forced back through setup.

Step 02

Choose apps and activate the gate

Users select the apps they want to control and enable blocking. After that, those selected apps can be routed into the workout gate when no earned time is available.

Step 03

Blocked apps open into a clear interstitial

Instead of crashing, dumping the user home, or feeling broken, the blocked app opens into a clear lock experience that explains what happened and offers a direct Continue path into the workout gate.

Step 04

Movement challenge opens immediately

The camera challenge is designed to be fast, minimal, and high-signal. The user sees the rep target, scanner feedback, and the status they need to complete to earn minutes.

Step 05

Minutes are granted and routed back into the app

When a set succeeds, AfterReps credits the timed unlock budget and returns the user to the requested app with a fresh unlock state.

Step 06

Automatic relock protects the rule

The earned access window is not permanent. When time is gone, the selected app relocks again without relying on the user to remember or behave perfectly.

Why the flow matters

Every screen has one job.

Exercise-to-unlock apps work best when the rule is obvious. AfterReps keeps the steps clean: orient, decide, do the reps, receive the time, and relock.
